Admissions
Admissions are institution-specific. An Uzbek school certificate may qualify for direct entry at some institutions, while others require a pathway, additional completed study or programme prerequisites. Master's entry normally requires a recognised bachelor's degree and competitive results.

1. Shortlist a recognised institution and programme. 2. Confirm how the Uzbek qualification is assessed and prepare translations. 3. Submit the admission application and satisfy any academic or language conditions. 4. Accept the offer, pay any required deposit and obtain the institution documents needed for immigration. 5. Apply online for the Canadian study permit after receiving the acceptance letter and required provincial or territorial document. 6. Arrange accommodation, insurance and all post-arrival registration steps.
Visa from Uzbekistan
Uzbek citizens require a study permit for most programmes longer than six months and may receive a temporary resident visa with approval. The institution must be a DLI, and a provincial or territorial attestation letter is required in many cases.

Financial evidence
For applications on or after 1 September 2025 outside Quebec, one applicant must show CAD 22,895 for first-year living expenses, excluding tuition and transportation. Evidence for the first year and a credible plan for the full programme are required; Quebec uses separate rules.
Work and post-study opportunities
Eligibility depends on the study permit, full-time status, programme and DLI. Work cannot start before studies begin, and co-op placements may require a separate co-op work permit.
A PGWP may be available after an eligible DLI programme; eligibility and duration depend on programme level, length, language and field rules.
Student life
Housing ranges from campus residence to homestay and shared rental. International-student health coverage differs by province and institution; some provinces have waiting periods or require private insurance.
Climate and packing
