September is the main intake, and selected programmes start in February. Non-EU applicants should apply early enough for qualification recognition, the university invitation and residence-permit processing.
Admissions
The university evaluates the Uzbek qualification and may arrange recognition through the Academic Information Centre. An 11-year certificate may require a foundation route or additional completed study. Programme language and subject prerequisites apply.

1. Shortlist a recognised institution and programme. 2. Confirm how the Uzbek qualification is assessed and prepare translations. 3. Submit the admission application and satisfy any academic or language conditions. 4. Accept the offer, pay any required deposit and obtain the institution documents needed for immigration. 5. After admission and invitation approval, apply for the long-stay visa or temporary residence permit through the Latvian process applicable to the programme. 6. Arrange accommodation, insurance and all post-arrival registration steps.
Visa from Uzbekistan
Uzbek citizens normally need a long-stay visa and/or temporary residence permit for full-time study. The university coordinates invitation documents; the applicant provides finances, accommodation, insurance and legalised records.

Financial evidence
For residence applications, show the current subsistence amount set by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs. Current guidance links many cases to the monthly minimum wage, and bank or sponsor evidence must cover the required period.
Work and post-study opportunities
Employment must remain consistent with the residence basis. Confirm the exact permit endorsement and employer formalities before starting work.
Bachelor: 4 extra months. Master's/doctoral: 4 months plus a possible 9-month search extension; work authorisation is separate.

University dormitories and shared rentals are common. Valid health insurance is required for immigration; students should also understand how to access state and private care and whether upfront payment is expected.
