Admissions
The institution and, where needed, the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre assess the Uzbek qualification. An 11-year certificate may require a foundation or additional study. English proficiency and programme prerequisites apply.

Scholarships
Check institution scholarships, University of Malta fee waivers and any Malta government schemes open to international students. Most awards are partial and housing still requires a separate budget.

Plan early and confirm the exact university and immigration requirements with SAMI before submitting.

Compare entry requirements, tuition, location and career fit.

Arrange academic records, certified translations and language evidence.

Submit before the October or alternative intake and secure accommodation early because availability is limited.

Meet offer conditions, pay required deposits and prepare financial evidence.

Arrange accommodation, insurance, arrival formalities and pre-departure support.
1. Shortlist a recognised institution and programme. 2. Confirm how the Uzbek qualification is assessed and prepare translations. 3. Submit the admission application and satisfy any academic or language conditions. 4. Accept the offer, pay any required deposit and obtain the institution documents needed for immigration. 5. Apply for the national long-stay visa or residence route required for the course, then complete the residence-permit process in Malta where applicable. 6. Arrange accommodation, insurance and all post-arrival registration steps.
Visa from Uzbekistan
Uzbek citizens need the appropriate national visa and/or residence permit for study longer than 90 days. Admission, accommodation, resources, insurance and return arrangements are central evidence.

Financial evidence
Follow the current Identità checklist. University of Malta guidance uses three months of bank evidence and, for residence applications, a planning benchmark of at least EUR 950 per month; visa calculations can differ depending on whether accommodation is prepaid.
Work and post-study opportunities
The exact start date depends on the course and legal category. A student residence or visa alone does not replace the Jobsplus work authorisation.
Eligible MQF Level 5+ graduates may receive a one-time 9-month search permit; it does not itself authorise work.
Student life
University housing, private student residences and shared rentals are available but book early. Comprehensive insurance and any required health screening must be maintained; public-care access depends on status and coverage.
Climate and packing
Malta has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters. Strong sun, humidity and limited winter heating in some properties should be considered.
